Welcome to Hatchside Academy.
We are a special school for pupils with moderate-severe learning difficulties and a broad range of other diagnoses, such as autistic spectrum condition (ASC). We are a thriving community focused on meeting the diverse needs of all the pupils in the school and developing long-lasting relationships with their families, as we know that this is key factor in all pupils’ development.
We are a split-site school catering for pupils aged 2-11. Our Early Years and Key Stage 1 department is located next to Mayespark Primary School on Goodmayes Lane and our Key Stage 2 department is on Aldborough Road north, near Newbury Park tube station.
We work closely with families to ensure each pupil’s needs are met, and our multi-disciplinary team is experienced in supporting children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). These plans guide our approach to personalised learning which also draws on each pupil’s unique strengths and interests to ensure the best possible engagement in their learning journey.
In addition to our personalised curriculum, we offer a range of therapies designed to support children's development. These include speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy, all of which are delivered by qualified professionals who work collaboratively with our teaching staff to ensure a holistic approach to each child's needs.
Our pupils are happy and love coming to school. We look forward to welcoming you to Hatchside Academy!

The PFA have been successful in their application to Variety Coaches for a sunshine minibus!
The mini bus will be allocated to Hatchside School and will enable the pupils to experience a wide variety of activities and outdoor trips which would not otherwise be possible. This is the first minibus for Hatchside school and was part paid by funds from the PFA. We are grateful for the PFA members hard work in the fundraising they do to benefit the pupils at our schools. As a parent or staff member of any Astrum School, you automatically are a member of the PFA, if you would like to get involved in activities and fundraising for the schools get in touch with them at Newbridgepfa@gmail.com
Have a look at our page to see what else we've been up to lately - Parents and Friends Association
Collecting the minibus alongside some famous faces - Glenn Hoddle, Chris Hughes, Ronnie Irani & Dame Denise Lewis!
